Spirit of the Glade was painted in loving memory of my nan.
Inspired by her vibrant spirit, colourful nature, and gentle presence, this artwork became something more than a painting. As the layers unfolded, it began to feel like a faerie spirit emerging from the woodland itself, a soft presence lingering amongst the foxgloves, carrying memories, love, and quiet magic between worlds.
Flowing ribbons of blush pink, lavender, gold, teal, and soft green intertwine across the canvas like iridescent wings, petals caught on the wind, or the delicate form of a woodland wisp. The movement feels both joyful and tender, celebrating a life remembered not through grief alone, but through colour, beauty, and the traces someone leaves behind.
Created as a tribute to the unseen threads that continue to connect us to those we love, Spirit of the Glade honours remembrance, love, and the feeling that those who have touched our lives never truly disappear.
